The land area of Kozarska Dubica is 499 km2 and the population is estimated at about 31.000 inhabitants.
Geographically, the municipality lies on the edge of Pannonian Basin, mainy plain land with an average altitude of 200 m, although there are mountainous areas in northwestern and northeastern parts of the municipality. The climate is moderate (humid) continental, with both long periods of sunny weather and sufficient amounts of rainfall, which is a good prerequisite for the development of all types of agricultural production. Out of the total area of 49.900 hectares, forest covers 15.691 hectares or 31.50% and agricultural land covers 31.481 hectares or 63%. Barren land covers 2.728 hectares or 5.50%.
Rivers Una and Sava, nearness of mountain Kozara, monastery Moštanica, spa Mlječanica, Memorial Area Donja Gradina as well as other cultural and historical sites are an exceptional opportunity to develop all types of tourism in the municipality.
